In August, Netflix Removing Online Feedback

Shortly, it will be very little harder for the fans to tell everyone that what you thought about Marvel’s The Avengers.

This summer the Netflix is removing an online review desktop-only features that allowed the users to easily read and write the reviews of the TV shows and also movies on its websites. But the shutdown is now coming in the stages. From August, people will no longer be capable of writing their feedback, comments or reviews on a show, which is almost similar to a Yelp review of a restaurant, by the July 30. And in the mid of August, people will even no longer be able to read the existing user reviews on the Netflix.

One of the Netflix spokesperson Smita Saran said in an email on Thursday that Netflix has notified the members who recently used the features.

It is not the first time when the company has changed a feature which has been used to provide the feedback or reviews on its offerings.

However, the streaming service has been used to allow the people to rate the programs with one to five stars. But, early last year, the company will change it to simple thumbs up or might be simple thumbs down. Some of the people have criticized the move as excessively simplistic; the new system will surely have the essence of their uselessness. Meanwhile, Netflix will still use the star-rating data, and it has also received some more ratings which are included in its thumbs-up-thumbs-down system.

The Netflix’s has been written reviews which allowed the users to explain that why they have doled out the five stars, in case, Recreation and Parks. But it only ever appeared on the Netflix’s websites, not it’s many of the application, and one of the Netflix spokeswomen said that the written reviews did not even influence the system Netflix which is used to recommend the shows to you.

Smita Saran said that this feature will only offer on the website and has seen also declining usage over the time.

Therefore, the existing thumbs up or thumb down system which is entirely autonomous of written online feedback and will remain the same after the changes.

Now the news has been coming at a time when the Netflix is at its peak. And in the upcoming spring, streaming service will take the crown as one of the most valuable media company in the world and also hit approximately 125 million subscribers.
